Nyakach Constituency falls within Nyakach District/ Sub County in Kisumu County in Nyanza Province, Kenya. The District Headquarters is located in Pap Onditi which lies in the lower Nykach area along Katito - Homabay road. The constituency was established in the 1966 elections when it was split from the Nyando constiyuency. It consists of 5 electoral wards as aforementioned and boarders Nyando Constituency to the North, Rachuonyo Constituency to the South, Kisumu east constituency to the West and Belgut Constituency to the East. The shoreline of the constituency to the South west touches Lake Victoria. The Constituency lies along the Lake Victoria which is the second largest fresh water lake in the World. It lies between the latitude 0000' (the equator) and 00 25'South and between longitude 340 45' east and 350 21' west. The constituency covers an area of 358.6 km2 including approximately 71km2 of the lake water surface. The constituency has two contrasting terrains; a vast flat lower part which stretches in the middle of the constituency and a hilly terrain stretches to the northwest and the south.
